Trout Fishing in a Stocked River

Trout Fish on the Caney Fork River for a great day of water fun! The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) stocks over 100,000 fish, Rainbow and Brown trout, into the Caney Fork River each year which makes fishing on the Caney Fork fun for everyone!.

The portion of the Caney Fork that is stocked with trout begins at the Center Hill Dam which is were your drop off point will be. We have fishing supplies available at our Canoe the Caney location.

Along the trip, you are bound to see all sorts of wildlife. Many different types of birds will be found along the way as well as squirrels and chipmunks. Occasionally you will even see some deer picking around the bank.

You must have a fishing license to fish on the Caney Fork. You can purchase your license online at www4.wildlifelicense.com/tn. You will be able to print off a temporary pass.

Simply click on the following links to be taken to information pages where you can learn more about the Brown Trout or Rainbow Trout on the Caney Fork. We will also tell you the difference in brown trout and rainbow trout. We also have fly fishing tips as well as bait tips. If you are a beginner, we have a section on Trout Fishing for Beginners!
